Meva Rotoscreen DS works long the same principle as the Rotoscreen RS. The operation of the screen is intermittent. The screen starts when a  pre-set water level is reached and operates until the water level is below the pre-set value. The cycle is repeated when the level is reached again.

The step-shaped bars of the Rotoscreen DS have an exact slot width, ensured by a robust bar fixing and intermediary spacers. As screenings mat on the screen, the screen rotates upward one "step". The screenings are carried to the top of the screen where they are dropped into a screenings trough.
