Meva Rotoscreen works intermittently. Thus the operation can be adjusted to the incoming flow. A level sensor is installed in the channel in front of the screen. The screen starts when a  pre-set water level is reached and operates until the water level is below the pre-set value. The cycle is repeated when the level is reached again.

The step-shaped bars of the Rotoscreen have an exact slot width, ensured by a robust bar fixing and intermediary spacers. As screenings mat on the screen, the screen rotates upward one "step". The screenings are carried to the top of the screen where they are dropped into a screenings trough.
