The IFD is a screen fed from the inside. It consists of a drum, which can be perforated plate or wedgewire, placed in rotation by a drive.
The inlet pipe flows into the inside of the drum, where a flow distribution system spreads the flow inside the drum.
A double washing system cleans and unclogs the screen element. Screenings are then conveyed to the screenings discharge by screw fixed inside the drum.
