The mechanical Basket Screen is based on the design of the FSM Grab Bar Screen. 

The basket of the screen sits in the sump of a channel, sieving screenings as flow passes through the basket. The basket is then raised and lowered on a tracked guide via an electronic hoist. The guides are curved above the surface to dump the basket into a screenings bin. 

The screen is manually controlled via  a local control station for raising and lowering the basket.
